Countdown to Halloween

Hi everyone, it's Patti here today sharing my Countdown to Halloween.  Oh what a fun project, one you can sit down and do in an afternoon, well unless you're like me and you can't make up your mind which papers and colors you want to use.  I love this little countdown, it measures 6.25" x 3.5" and I added a chipboard base covered in orange glitter cardstock to make it a little larger and hold my tombstone.

I added the chipboard bat to the pumpkins head and the tombstone topped with the crow.  These are additional embellishments that you can use to enhance your countdown.  On the video below I'll go over all the processes I used and why, along with a few tips and tricks that I found helped along the way.

I used a combination of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Tattered Leather and TCW's Gold Gesso for the number blocks and the words.  I love how the Gold Gesso leaves a sparkly sheen when dry.  I filled the numbers and letters in with a Distress Marker in Carved Pumpkin to pull together the orange.

In the package Sa sent me she included this darling Tombstone with the crow perched on top.  I covered the tombstone in a Halloween paper, used green flocking for the grass, black embossing powder for the crow and then covered (all but the flocking) with a clear embossing for not only an extra ghostly sheen but also more stability.  All papers and stickers were just ones that were in my Halloween stash of goodies. (the paper is an old My Mind's Eye, I have no idea where or who the stickers were from).

I had to perch this embossed bat atop the pumpkins head, doesn't that just make it?  The bats come in a couple of sizes, this smaller one comes 3 to the package (links to the supplies will be under the video).

I also wanted to incorporate these 3 ghosty ghouls who I'm sure were up to no good.  They were the perfect size to flutter down the side.  I used crystal glitter on them so they twinkle and shine even while they are making faces.

The last little add on to the main kit was this darling black cat, I embossed him with some Blue Fern Black Sand embossing powder, it's hard to see in this photo but on the video you'll see he really shimmers and glitters.  He's sporting a couple of tiny googly eyes as well.

Well that's it for my project, I hope you like it and will check it and all the Halloween items out in Sa's store.  If you spend $30 Sa is offering a 10% discount, just use the code pattifans when you check out.  Links to all Sa's social media spots as well as my own will follow the video.

Have fun everyone and thanks for spending some time with me.
